"events/events//text":"This project was launched in 1994 when Vladimir Arkhipov found his first twenty objects. Later he would establish the criteria for selecting the objects and now we are able to present over two thousand customized functional objects from Russia, Austria, Albania, the United Kingdom, the Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic, Australia and Brazil. It has been Vladimir's personal aspiration to date to search for the objects, record interviews with their makers, make photos and present the objects as art objects within a number of art projects. Now that this website has been set up, there is an opportunity for anyone to take part in this process, as we see transformation of an individual practice into an international project.",

"common/idea//text":"<U><a href=contrib.ru.html>We invite you to take part</a></U> in the collective creation of a panoramic view to a world-wide phenomena - an independent creation of a needful everyday object. This project was started in 1994, when an artist Vladimir Arkhipov had found the first twenty of these objects. Now we can present more than two thousand functional hand-made objects from Russia, Great Britain, Ukraine, Germany, Czech Republic and Australia. All these objects have a unique quality - they were not alienated from the author by a consumer, these objects are not merchandise. People made these objects for themselves - not for sale - and these objects still possess the auras of their creators. The objects do not incite the desire to possess them, they do not seduce us with their design, but they strike us with their incredible honesty.\nWe do not asses the technical perfection of hand-made objects on principle. Our site is dedicated to thingies, not inventions.\nThe stories are published in the authors' native lanhuages, without translation.\nAs we collect information about your hand-made objects, we will publish it on the site.\nWe hope that through a collective effort soon we will be able to see tens of thousand incredibles objects from around the world.\nWe are expecially interested in information from the industrial countries, in order to compensate for the condescending attitude towards the hand-made objects from the developing countries.\nThis project is not aimed at the making of profit. It is aimed at the creation of a democratic procedure for a description of a modern cultural phenomena, a fragment of our fleeting life.",
